It has been a while since the previous news update, so there is alot to announce. In CSS news, we are currently 3 rounds into the CS:S competition and have found it to be a thrilling start to Season 2. Teams and players are showing up for their matches and the games are being run to a strict and efficient schedule. It looks like this is going to be a great season.
In 1.6 news, season 2 is finally slated to get underway on Sunday 4th May. There are 8 teams that have signed up for this season and the format returns to the brutal 5v5 player format. This is going to be a very interesting element in Season 2 as the matches will rely even more heavily on teamwork and tactical prowess. Good luck to all of the teams involved and enjoy your second AESL Season.
In other news, it brings me much joy to announce that a sponsorship deal has been brokered with iPGN. To find out about this deal and about iPGN please Click here.

Well the competition is well and truly in full swing for both Counter-strike 1.6
and Counter-Strike: Source. 1.6 is currently in round 8 of the competition
but is struggling at present with teams failing to show up for matches and
general interest seems to have dwindled. This is likely the result of CS 1.6
being the guineapig of the tournament – where most of the trials and in this case,
errors happened. With CS:S appearing much more successful at this point, it is
likely that Season 2 of the Aesl will be a much more organised and fun experience
for all. Counter-Strike: Source is now in round 4 and is thriving. With a much
more stable format for next season we’re hoping that the popularity of the
competition will only increase for both games.

Welcome to the Aesl Website – Work In Progress Edition.
So we’re finally in the process of getting a legitimate website up and
running which, I’m sure most of you will agree is great
(not to mention about time). As I’m sure many of you will understand,
we have all got busy lives outside of CS so we do what we can to get the
Aesl moving and we appreciate everybody’s enthusiasm and support.
When the website is properly up and running, we should have proper forums,
rosters, match fixtures and results/tables. All of this is a push in a
positive direction and we’re really looking forward to what this competition
is going to turn into. Any input you guys could give towards the site would
be much appreciated as we slave away to produce something that looks nice and
works.
